RIO integrates the VRML (Virtual Reality Modeling Language) model of the robot manipulator and a MatlabTM object representing the manipulator’s topology and dynamics parameters. The user interface consists of a Java applet displayed by the webbrowser along with VRML model. The applet provides a connection to the remote host running MatlabTM. A remote PC runs MJSMatlabTM Java Server, which is capable of intercommunicating with MatlabTM, and receives remote users connections. MatlabTM holds an object of the manipulator being studied, however the user is able to affect the MatlabTM object by means of Java applet GUI. Multisessions, involving several users, can be connected to the same MatlabTM object over the Internet simultaneously.

Confidence-Based Multi-Robot Learning from Demonstration
Learning from demonstration algorithms enable a robot to learn a new policy based on demonstrations provided by a teacher. In this article, we explore a novel research direction, multi-robot learning from demonstration, which extends demonstration based learning methods to collaborative multi-robot domains. Specifically, we study the problem of enabling a single person to teach individual polic...
متن کاملDynamics modeling and stable gait planning of a quadruped robot in walking over uneven terrains
Quadruped robots have unique capabilities for motion over uneven natural environments. This article presents a stable gait for a quadruped robot in such motions and discusses the inverse-dynamics control scheme to follow the planned gait. First, an explicit dynamics model will be developed using a novel constraint elimination method for an 18-DOF quadruped robot. Thereafter, an inverse-dynamics...
متن کاملA survey of robot learning from demonstrations for Human-Robot Collaboration
Robot learning from demonstration (LfD) is a research paradigm that can play an important role in addressing the issue of scaling up robot learning. Since this type of approach enables non-robotics experts can teach robots new knowledge without any professional background of mechanical engineering or computer programming skills, robots can appear in the real world even if it does not have any p...
متن کاملExploring Social Robots as a tool for Special Education to teach English to Iranian Kids with Autism
This case study investigates the effects of Robot Assisted Language Learning (RALL) on English vocabulary learning and retention of Iranian children with high-functioning autism. Two groups of three male students (6-10 years old) with high-functioning autism participated in the current study. The humanoid robot NAO was used as a teacher assistant to teach English to the RALL group. Both RALL an...
متن کاملSoccer Goalkeeper Task Modeling and Analysis by Petri Nets
In a robotic soccer team, goalkeeper is an important challenging role, which has different characteristics from the other teammates. This paper proposes a new learning-based behavior model for a soccer goalkeeper robot by using Petri nets. The model focuses on modeling and analyzing, both qualitatively and quantitatively, for the goalkeeper role so that we have a model-based knowledge of the ta...
